	Pre-Admission Certification
	Our team of professional physicians and nurses, in consultation with the admitting physician or surgeon, determine whether a procedure should be performed on an inpatient or outpatient basis.
	Concurrent Review
	The length of stay during a hospitalization is monitored based on pre-admission review and accepted medical practices of the individual community. We work with the hospital UR department to verify medical necessity for a continued stay.
	Discharge Planning
	American Health Group works with hospitals to assess the patient's needs and determine alternatives for care as the patient approaches discharge.
	Second Opinion
	Should the patient choose to get another physician opinion regarding surgery, we will help make that connection for the patient.
	Post Review Process
	We monitor our cases to make sure that appropriate care was given. The medical review not only helps the provider but it ensures that we continually achieve improved standards of care.
	Case Management
	Our utilization management program includes identification of catastrophic illness or injury. We are able to assist the individual in identifying additional benefits that might be available, as well as offering AHG's national "Centers of Excellence" for referrals on the most complex cases.
